Non-resident roll

If you have the right to vote in federal or state elections, you also have the right to be enrolled as an elector at a local government election in the ward or council area you live in.

The non-residential rolls provide people who are non-resident owners, occupiers and rate-paying lessees of rateable land within the Parkes Shire Council area an opportunity to have a say in who is elected to Council.

There are two non-residential rolls:

  • the roll of non-resident owners of rateable land; and

  • the roll of occupiers and rate-paying lessees.

These two rolls are combined with the residential roll to form the roll of electors for the Council area, which is used during an election.  The residential roll is the list of people who live in the Council area and are eligible to vote in elections.

To find out more, visit the NSW Electoral Commission website.

To submit an application form for inclusion in the non-residential roll (individual or nominee), present to Cobar Shire Council at 36 Linsley Street.

Check if you can vote

If you’re a resident in the Parkes Shire local government area, you can check if your enrolment details are up-to-date with the Australian Electoral Commission.  You must enter your details exactly as they appear on the electoral roll.

Euabalong is a small village within Cobar Shire located on the banks of the Lachlan River with a population of approximately 300 people. This village is situated towards the Southern end of the Shire and is 230 kilometers South of Cobar.

Council were successful in receiving funding from the NSW State Government to expand the community infrastructure in the village by installing a river walking track.

This walking track was identified through the development of Council’s Active Transport Plan in 2019. Council held numerous community consultation sessions and took the needs and the feedback of the community into consideration when forming this document.

This project involved the construction of a concrete walking track alongside the Lachlan River and creating a link between recreational assets within the village.

The Euabalong Riverwalk footpath has been completed along with a footbridge and picnic seating.  Be sure to drop in for a stroll along the river next time you are in the area.
